CFHI is seeking a full-time Senior Evaluation Lead to complement our existing team of dynamic staff.

Reporting to the Director, Evaluation and Performance, the Senior Evaluation Lead is responsible for developing and implementing CFHI’s monitoring and evaluation work to enable healthcare leaders to make more informed decisions about healthcare and empower them to measure how well their healthcare organizations are being run. The Senior Evaluation Lead provides strategic corporate evaluation advice as well as organizational and learning activities to integrate evidence-informed results and best pratices into CFHI programming. This position has responsibility for the following major activities: (1) Performance measurement and monitoring; (2) Evaluation data system design and management; (3) Organizational evaluation and learning; (4) Building evaluation capacity across CFHI. The Senior Evaluation Lead is a management role, that requires providing recommendations and support to the Director, Evaluation and Performance as well as senior management team and to program leads. This position provides you with an opportunity to effectively manage for results. The Senior Evaluation Lead is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy and cultivate strategic monitoring and evaluation relationships with other healthcare organizations and external improvement and measurement experts.

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in healthcare improvement, health policy and evaluation, health economics, public administration, public health, epidemiology, research methods, statistics, social sciences or in a discipline relevant to evaluation in healthcare improvement, or a combination of experience and education.
  • Bilingual in English and French is desirable (English communications at Advanced “C” level and French communications at Intermediate “B” level).
  • Having a Credentialed Evaluator designation from the Canadian Evaluation Society is desirable.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in a similar function, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory/management role, preferably in a healthcare delivery organization or a not-for-profit organization.
  • Familiar with the healthcare quality improvement.
  • Proven experience working on monitoring, evaluation, data collection, and data analysis.
  • Extensive knowledge of evaluation strategies and measurement approaches for healthcare improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to create evidence-based performance indicators.
  • Proven expertise in quantitative and qualitative methodologies, research, reporting, data quality assessments, data analysis and data presentation.
  • Advanced competencies in issues management, system-wide thinking, finance, and human resources management skills.
  • Demonstrated track record in disseminating programmatic and research outcomes and findings at national and international conferences as well as in the published literature.
  • Complex problem-solving and critical appraisal skills requiring probing for information to determine the nature of the problem, developing unique solutions, and comprehension of highly complex material.
  • Highly developed written communication skills including experience writing reports and summarizing, interpreting, and synthesizing complex information.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and oral communication skills including experience developing and maintaining strategic partnerships and networks of significant numbers of stakeholders.
  • Negotiation, consultation and presentation skills to facilitate program development, achieve program success, and build networks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to develop corporate directions, long term programs, policies, and processes.
  • Ability to take initiative, has vision, is creative and innovative in facilitating change.
  • Ability to operate within an organization’s formal and informal structures, build allies and relationships across departments, and use allies to build consensus and create results.
  • Well-organized and attentive to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
