We are seeking a full-time Senior People Specialist to join our dynamic organization. 

Working closely with the Vice-President, Corporate Services, the Senior People Specialist is responsible not only for CFHI’s staff but also supporting its culture – in other words, its values, ethics, mission and how it creates a working environment in which employees can thrive. Your focus will be on the people, value and capacity. In this position, the candidate will oversee all areas of human resources, from talent acquisition, to performance feedback, to benefits, and how these areas relate to company culture. You will help CFHI implement its strong corporate strategy by helping to drive the strategy through the organization with other leaders. You will play an integral role in transforming how CFHI thinks about people and culture while facilitating an environment that strikes the right balance between stewardship, service and results. You will foster a collaborative culture of stewardship by identifying gaps and organizational needs and by supporting supervisors and managers in identifying professional development for their staff.

The Senior People Specialist will be well-versed in all aspects of human resources in order to provide guidance and ensure that human resources programs are designed and delivered in a manner that is consistent with CFHI values and culture.

You will also need to have the following minimum requirements:

  • Master’s degree in human resources management or related field preferred; minimum requirement Bachelor’s degree with experience in human resources management or related field.
  • CHRL/CHRE certification required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of proven results leading high performing human resources functions.
  • Bilingual in French and English is preferred (English communications skills at Advanced “C” level and French communications skills at Intermediate “B” level).
  • Excellent vision, creativity and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced in developing and implementing leadership and performance solutions.
  • Experience with not-for-profit organizations, especially those in healthcare quality improvement.
  • Successful leadership of transformations including cultural evolution.
  • Experience being part of a small team where you have been doing a lot with a little; you have vision for the future but are excited to roll up those sleeves and get in the weeds with your teams.
  • Conceptual thinker with sound judgment who can gather, analyze and translate best practice information into practical solutions that support the business in achieving goals and priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including consulting and presentation skills at senior levels and the ability to collaborate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders at various levels.
  • Values-based team player who contributes to the development of others.
  • Detail oriented, well organized, and able to coordinate and multi-task to accomplish a variety of tasks and activities meeting conflicting priorities and timelines.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft office software.
  • Strong research, analytical and creative skills as they relate to program and process design/development.
  • Lifelong learner who is energized by helping to support business change.
