Smarter Caring for a Healthier Canada: Embracing System Innovation

Type of event: CHSRF Sponsored

Hosting Organization: Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS)

This Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) event will not be just one more debate on sustainability of the healthcare system but rather an exploration of the impact of disruptive innovations on health care systems, some of which have been proven by experience to work in other jurisdictions. It will seriously consider what is needed to transform the Canadian health care system. The dialogue, together with survey input received from CAHS fellows, will inform a future assessment to ensure there is meaningful impact. An opening address by Brenda Zimmerman will be followed by panels on Equity, Efficiency, Community and Sustainability with speakers offering the differing perspectives of health professionals; health care institutions; government; citizens; and business thinkers to challenge all of us to think differently.
