Twitter Chat - Spreading Innovation

Twitter_Bird_LogoCFHI is co-hosting its first #hcsmca Twitter chat on the importance of spreading innovation across the Canadian healthcare system on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at 1 p.m. EST

What is a Twitter chat?

A Twitter chat is a pre-arranged online discussion that takes place on Twitter. Anyone can participate through his or her own Twitter account by posting updates (known as tweets). All updates/tweets must contain a predetermined hashtag to link them together in a virtual conversation on the same topic.

What is #hcsmca?

#hcsmca is the hashtag used for a weekly Twitter chat between people interested in exploring social innovation in Canadian healthcare. The first #hcsmca chat was hosted on September 29, 2010. For more information on past and future chats, visit the #hcsmca blog.

How can I participate?

Participants will be asked to discuss the following topics:

  • Share examples of innovations, including social innovations, that you’ve seen improve healthcare workflow. We’re focusing on innovations that improve the quality and efficiency of services, for instance referral pathways, strategies to implement clinical practice guidelines, surgical checklists, and any number of other ways of improving the delivery of healthcare services.
  • What social innovations would you like to see spread to more healthcare organizations?
  • What social mechanisms can CFHI use to maximize the success of our pan-Canadian collaborative?
