Evidence-informed decision-making is the process of distilling and disseminating the best available evidence from research, practice and experience and using that evidence to inform and improve health policy and practice.

CFHI supports healthcare professionals to develop the skills to better gather and assess evidence in the daily work, as a way to increase evidence-informed decision-making in healthcare. Evidence includes research, quality improvement data and the experiences of both patients and professionals. Building the skills to gather and apply evidence is a key component of our EXTRA: Executive Training Program and our quality improvement collaboratives.
