Type of event: CHSRF Hosted - By Invitation

An invited session for senior leaders in western and northern Canada to explore the importance of engaging patients in health system transformation

Two of Canada’s leading experts in health system transformation, Ross Baker, Professor, University of Toronto, and Jean-Louis Denis, professor, École nationale d’administration publique, will open the session by presenting lessons for Canada's healthcare systems based on their case study of three transformative healthcare systems.

The study highlights the importance of public and patient engagement in achieving health system transformation. In addition, regional experiences in patient engagement including those associated with CHSRF’s Patient Engagement Program—designed to identify ways to effectively involve patients, families and caregivers in the design, delivery and evaluation of care—will be shared.

Participants will then engage in small group discussions to share their own experiences and explore opportunities to work together going forward.
