EXTRA Cohort Eight

EXTRA Cohort Nine

Our long-standing EXTRA program gives participants the skills and knowledge to become change agents in healthcare improvement. It offers unique opportunities for participants to conduct evidence-informed intervention projects in their organizations, with the goal of enhancing patient outcomes, quality of care and cost- effectiveness.

Intervention Project

During the 14-month fellowship, teams will carry out an “intervention project” (IP) designed to actively engage them and their organization(s) in an improvement initiative rooted in the assessment and application of evidence. The central objective of the intervention project is to achieve a quality/performance improvement change in the organization or across jurisdictions and/or sites. It must focus on an area of high priority to the organization(s), and make systematic use of research-based evidence in areas such as policy, program, or administrative issues. EXTRA intervention projects also provide fellows with opportunities to collaborate with other teams in the EXTRA program on similar or comparative projects.

This session will be an opportunity for the 58 health leaders from 26 organizations across Canada to present on 31 intervention projects. View the 2011 and 2012 Fellows and read the titles and descriptions of their intervention projects.
