Better How

In 2017, CFHI engaged stakeholders in a consultation to help inform strategy planning, priorities and future programming.

As one piece of the consultation, CFHI spoke to 34 key informants through a series of face-to-face and telephone interviews and received 173 responses to an online survey.

Here is a snapshot of what we heard from key informants and the online survey:

  • CFHI is recognized as having unique expertise in spreading and scaling innovations and building capacity for system level transformation.
  • Shifting care from hospital to home and community, primary care reform and integration are key priorities.
  • Improvement programming should target those living with multiple and complex chronic conditions, the elderly and frail, those living with mental health issues and Indigenous populations.
  • Patient, family and community engagement should be embedded across all quality improvement programming in Canadian healthcare.

Thanks to everyone who provided honest and open input into the consultation.

Detailed 2017 Stakeholder Engagement Survey results are now available. Please note that these survey results comprise one input only into strategy planning. We are developing processes to enable better cross-country response in future surveys and addressing gaps for current strategy planning.

The conversation isn’t over. Stay tuned for more ways to contribute in the coming months by subscribing to our e-newsletter or following us on Twitter and LinkedIn.
