New features a place for the community and content connected by tagging

Ottawa (December 17, 2010)—In 2009, CHSRF announced three strategic priorities to strengthen healthcare in Canada: engaging and supporting citizens, accelerating evidence-informed change and promoting policy dialogue. With our initiatives in high gear , we felt it was time to harness all the best the Web has to offer and make our site much more than an information repository. After consulting the CHSRF community, we developed a new site that actively delivers information based on your interests. It is also a hub for exchange about our activities and about issues related to health and healthcare in Canada generally. Our goal is to enable our community—partners, stakeholders, the media and the general public—to share its successes, events and opportunities.

Some of our exciting new features include:

  • CHSRF Community—an entire section for sharing stories and information about individuals and organizations that are making news and making a difference in Canadian healthcare.
  • Browse by topic capabilities—every piece of content on our site has been tagged with keywords. This allows visitors to use "tag clouds" in order to access all the content related to a particular tag.
  • Interactivity and integration—the site is easier to use, more engaging, aligned with our social media channels and with our objectives as an organization, all of which makes your visit easier and more rewarding.

Enjoy getting to know the site! To help you get acquainted, our special December 2010 edition of @CHSRF touches on a few highlights of the year across our key priorities and points you to where you can find out more.

Happy holidays from all of us at CHSRF!
