Coronavirus disease (COVID-19): CFHI update

Mar 13, 2020

CFHI continues to actively monitor and respond to the advice of public health authorities related to COVID-19. We acknowledge the incredible work being done by public health, broader health system stakeholders, governments and others in our communities to ensure the health of everyone in Canada and globally.

Our organization is committed to putting people first. This means prioritizing the health and safety of our staff, as well as that of the communities we live in and serve. We are putting in place comprehensive plans that reflect these priorities, as well as our commitment to continue to deliver programs and services that help to improve care across the country.

By putting in place the following measures, we hope to contribute to reducing the spread of the virus, lessening the burden on local health systems.

In line with public health guidance to limit non-essential trips out of the home, our office is closed until further notice.

In-person CFHI events in March and April 2020 are cancelled, postponed, or are being switched to virtual participation. We are reaching out to anyone impacted directly and providing reimbursement and other support to help everyone adapt to these changes.

Where possible, we continue to offer virtual options like webinars for people participating in programs including our Innovation Challenges, EXTRA and collaboratives.

Our team continues working (virtually) shoulder-to-shoulder with you to improve care while our premises are closed, and we remain available via phone, email or social media.

CFHI is monitoring guidance and instructions from authorities about COVID-19 regarding in-person meetings and events beyond April 2020. We will communicate with participants as the situation evolves.

More information about COVID-19 is available from the Public Health Agency of Canada, the World Health Organization, and local public health authorities.
