September 19, 2019, Ottawa (unceded traditional Algonquin nation territory) — The Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement today announced that
Tammie Myles has joined the organization’s Board of Directors effective immediately. Ms. Myles is the owner/director of Mother Earth Whispers, an organizational wellness and leadership development company focusing on positive change.
With a Master of Arts in Leadership and Training and extensive experience working nationally and in First Nations communities in training, organization and community development, and experience instructing trauma, abuse and addictions counselling courses, Ms. Myles will bring a wealth of expertise to her new role.
“I am pleased to welcome Tammie Myles to the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement’s volunteer Board of Directors,” said Lynn Stevenson, CFHI Board Chair. “CFHI is at an exciting point in our evolution as we implement our strategy focused on delivering lasting improvement for more people and Tammie Myles will bring tremendous insight to our work.”
Ms. Myles has significant management experience with Aboriginal Friendship Centres, where she has incorporated Indigenous methods to organizational wellness.
“I am genuinely thrilled to be invited to sit as a Director on the CFHI Board,” said Ms. Myles. “Contributing to healthcare innovations for improvements in Canada is my way of expressing gratitude through reciprocity and sharing unique perspectives through lived experiences for positive change.”
Ms. Myles is a member of the First Nations Health Authority (BC) Board of Directors. She is Stz’uminus First Nations and Danish.
