Social Media Policy

The following Social Media Policy represents the "rules of the road" for those individuals who choose to use the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement (“CFHI”, “we” or “us”) website www.cfhi-fcass.ca and/or social media sites, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram. This Social Media Policy is designed to help protect CFHI and its community. By submitting a comment or other content, you (and your parent/legal guardian if you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence) agree to be legally bound by the terms and conditions of this Social Media Policy.

  1. While we will not be able to monitor every posting, we reserve the right, in our sole and absolute discretion, to remove, edit, or otherwise modify any content that does not adhere to this Social Media Policy and/or the applicable social media platform’s terms and policies.
  2. Please respect other users. Any content you submit must not be inappropriate, abusive or otherwise offensive. Content must not contain, depict or involve any of the following: profanity or otherwise offensive language; derogatory characterizations of any ethnic, racial, sexual or religious groups; content that endorses or condones any illegal, inappropriate or risky activity or behaviour; and/or any other content that is or could be considered inappropriate, unsuitable or offensive, all as determined by us in our sole and absolute discretion.
  3. We respect intellectual property laws and require that you do the same. By posting and/or submitting contents, you (and your parent/legal guardian if you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence) represent that you have the right to share the material in your submitted content, including (but not limited to) trade-marks and copyrighted material. Do not post any third party materials unless you have first obtained consent from the owner of such materials.
  4. Comments or opinions expressed are those of their respective contributors only. The views expressed on the CFHI website or on any of the social media platforms used by CFHI do not necessarily represent or reflect the views of CFHI, its directors, officers or employees. We are not responsible for, and disclaim any liability in relation to, the content posted by contributors.
  5. In addition to the rights that you grant to CFHI, and/or pursuant to a social media platform such as Facebook, Twitter etc., you (and your parent/legal guardian if you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence) hereby: grant to CFHI and its affiliates, in perpetuity, a world-wide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to publish, display, reproduce, modify, edit or otherwise use your submitted content (in any format or media); and (ii) waive all moral rights in and to your submitted comment in favour of CFHI and anyone authorized by CFHI to reproduce or otherwise use the content submitted. This includes the right to use any ideas you submit (including ideas about our products or advertising campaigns) in any manner that we choose, without any obligation to you.
  6. Any materials that are deemed to contain advertisements, “spam” or junk mail content, or references to other websites will be removed in our sole and absolute discretion.
  7. Please remember that this page is public. For your own safety, please do not post or submit any personal information (e.g. addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses).
  8. You (and your parent/legal guardian if you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence) hereby agree to release and hold harmless CFHI, its affiliated companies and each of their respective agents, employees, directors, successors and assigns from and against any and all claims based on the content you post and/or submit, including (but not limited to) claims based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy, copyright infringement, trade-mark infringement or any other intellectual property related cause of action.
